Heidi -- I hope you got the book Great Alaskan Tour Saver. I see you are out of Talketna now, but wow, that plane trip to land on the Ruth Glacier was one of the highlights up there. And it was in that tour saver book - - 2 for 1. BOGO yeh. Have fun, but leave some for me next spring.

Worked in yard all morning - - making some progress, but still not fast enough - - not overly patient on stuff like that.

Hey Scotty, belated Happy Birthday, big guy. I see it was a good one - -that is great.

Grabbing a ph00 and out of here.

Bobby

You guys are great...

Took the fam to the Moose at noon today, they had a ceremony. Talked to the fam about what it meant. Had a couple of old timers come up to me and thank me for my service... I felt two inches tall being next to America's hero's, and for them to thank me? Words can't describe.

We went bowling after that, I took the fam on base to have some fun... it was painful, but with the help of Adolphus Bush, I managed...

Bout to work on my brothers truck and drink some more beer!

Kinda but not quite, I'm still running.

OK, had my antibiotic shower, another in the a.m. then off to the part snatcher. It's a good thing, I don't know how much I could put up with this thing. I'm tired of hurting all the time.

fiverbobo- yeah like the coupons stuff, we may be disappointed tomorrow. have a fly over/around the Denali summit but it might be cancelled for a lower level flight. not enough people coming out this year. see how it plays.

Evenin...

Ma... please be careful.

So... today, I was in the garage working on my brothers pos chevy, and some guy in a TDI pulls up... 'fix my dodge'... you got it, buddy. So... this dude drops it off at my house and hands me the key... guess I'm just that trustworthy! Already got a couple of the things fixed, common stuff. Gonna adjust the valves tomorrow.

Funny stuff. Just give me the keys to your 50k truck...

Been awake so figured I would come and fix coffee - - AND PH00 -- YEH. .............heading for the hospital. Close friend goes into surgery this morning for his back - - five hour long ordeal. They go in from the front to start for scheduled 3 hours, then flip him and finish up from the backside for 2 more hours. Nasty and I guess quite dangerous operation. He says even if he is immobilized, they promised he would not hurt anymore. He can only hobble right now. Too bad - - strong ox built almost like Scotty and to see him all bent over the crippled up is discouraging. Hope all goes well.

Heidi - - you having any fun yet? .........Love it up there - - next spring. Hope your flight is a good one. If you get up around the summit you will see the high jumping off campsite at 17,000' for the final assault on the summit. There was a guy (I guess) standing on the edge of the camp waving at us. It was absolutely crystal clear when we took off and around the summit - - suddenly we were surrounded by clouds - - that got scary. Glad the pilot knew where he was.

OK, grabbing my ph00 and out of here. Have a great day.

OK, Bob took the bait... now putting the regular stuff out for the rest of you. Little burned form a boatride with the brother yesterday. Trying to catch up on some news now. Weather service is finally conceding that some storm damage from Sunday was caused by tornadoes. We get our share of little ones, fortunately the big ones are rare. Scott, for what problems I did have with WOOD, the media on this side of the state has a long way to go for any comparable weather and traffic coverage. No morning radio covering local news and traffic comeing in either. Heck, even the Freebeer and Hotwings Show had traffic reports over there.

It's TuesdaythatfeelslikeMonday, May 31st.

On this day in 1854 - The Kansas-Nebraska Act passed by the U.S. Congress.

1870 - E.J. DeSemdt patented asphalt.

1879 - New York's Madison Square Garden opened.

1884 - Dr. John Harvey Kellogg patented "flaked cereal."

1889 - In Johnstown, PA, more than 2,200 people died after the South Fork Dam collapsed.

1907 - The first taxis arrived in New York City. They were the first in the United States.

1913 - The 17th Amendment went into effect. It provided for popular election of U.S. senators.

1927 - Ford Motor Company produced the last "Tin Lizzie" in order to begin production of the Model A.

1962 - Adolf Eichmann was hanged in Israel. Eichmann was a Gestapo official and was executed for his actions in the **** Holocaust.

1977 - The trans-Alaska oil pipeline was finished after 3 years of construction.

2003 - In North Carolina, Eric Robert Rudolph was captured. He had been on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted list for five years for several bombings including the 1996 Olympic bombing.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
I've learned that artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

Thanks for the coffee Bob!

Ha, big boy - - fooled ya - - brought my own today and what you spiked was long after this guy had come and gone. I even faked out the faker, Big Don. Thanks for the prayers - - we should know it about an hour or so the outcome of the surgery. Stayed with his wife for a while to keep her company and get her some food. Tough when your mate is down like that.

OK, gotta go get some work done now.

Nobody's here! Everybody must have headed North with Heidi or maybe they are worried about attracting T-rad's parts snatcher.

Wiring must have been spendy with the current price of copper. We lucked out on our weather and actually got a few days of summer (probably because Heidi is up here). Oh well, now we are back to the stuff you are getting.
