Herculiner?

Anyone have any experience with Herculiner? I would like to get some gravel protection on the rockers of my truck, but dont have $600 to have it done in Line-X.

Would Herculiner be a decent alternative, or would I be wasting my time?

I had my short bed Line-X'd last year, and it cost me $365 +tax. That was for a regular black liner and sprayed over the rail. I've been really happy with it and wish I had done it sooner.

There is a good amount of prep work involved with any bedliner to ensure that it adheres properly.

If you are looking to do just the lower panels, I don't see that costing as much as a full bedliner.

I Herculinered the bed of my old truck. Lots of prep work and I wouldn't do it again. The kit I bought for the 8' bed meant that I had to apply it pretty thin to not runt out. Didn't seem to hold up well at all. If you are doing the rockers (smaller area then my bed), you can put it on thicker, but I wouldn't trust it to hold up. Went with Rhino-lining in the bed of my current truck.

YMMV

I did the rocker panels on my old 4runner with herculiner. I loved it. it was solid. like mentioned above, if you apply it thickly, it actually does its job.

heres what mine looked like:

It does seem strange that it would cost more, the reason i was quoted that price is because of the amount of masking that has to be done before spraying.

My local Line-X dealer said that the whole truck has to be masked before spraying the rockers.
