DIY durabak or herculiner on rocker panels?
DIY durabak or herculiner on rocker panels?
My rockers are starting to get little rust pits where the paint has been nicked by road debris. Has anyone coated their rockers with durabak, herculiner, or some other diy product to stop chips?
Or, has anyone put on the clear sticky plastic as protection?
My truck will never make it to 400k miles if the body rusts away.

My buddy did that to his 96'. He drives 5 miles of gravel road everyday and the rockers looked like *&^&*( so he scuffed the rockers and then did some roll on herculiner. Looks great, and has lasted 3 years so far. He later went back and did the gray plastic on the front bumper without scuffing the plastic and it only lasted 6 months or so.
That herculiner, with its rough texture, attracts dirt though. Seems like he has to was his truck more often. But it looks SHARP!
