HELP,,, Rebuilt tranny won't work

This is regarding my 95 NON diesel Dodge.

I finally got around to putting my 46RH back into my Dodge after having it rebuilt. I put in 4 qts of fluid, started the truck and added another 7 qts. I got in, drove around the block (1/4 mile) went to back into drive and lost all gears. I feathered the throttle and got reverse back enough to pull into the drive. I checked the fluid and it was a little too full. I shut the truck off and got under it and pulled the return line from the tranny. I started the truck and no fluid dumped out. I assumed the cooler was plugged so I pulled both lines off the tranny and started it up again. Some fluid drained from the line, but none came from the tranny. What could be wrong ? Sounds like a bad pump to me is there something else ?? does a pump get replaced on a rebuild?? Thanks for any help.

BTW the shop that did the rebuild is now " Closed Due To A Back Injury") So I can't get any help there

Are you checking the fluid on level ground, and running in Neutral?
It sounds like low fluid from what you're describing.

I was checking it on level ground in Park AND Neutral I have no forward OR reverse. I am thinking maybe I broke the pump while installing the trans.

That is possible if you did not install the TC correctly. It has to slide on smooothly and fully engage the pump. If you had to "draw" the trans into the engine with the bolts, you probably ruined the pump.

I didn't pull the trans in too tight, but I did notice a little binding and backed it off, then readjusted the tc. Replacing the pump is rather easy isn't it ?

You may have burned it up befor you could add all the fluid. It only takes a few seconds to use up all that assembly lube and torch it.

I had 10 qts in it when I drove it around the block. It seemed fine til it just stopped.
The fluid is still brand new looking and smells fine.
