Help needed, UPS conversion question

I have acquired an old Belkin UPS that I want to attempt to modify and use in my truck as a 115 volt power supply. I have a question regarding the UPS wiring. Is there anybody here that may be able to help me?

A UPS is not really intended for what your talking about. Besides, anything worthy of any kind of output will weigh a ton. A $30 inverter from Walmart will be a whole lot better. I'm guessing your talking about a UPS intended to keep a computer running during a power outage. What size is this UPS? What are you wanting to power?

Even tho the UPS is not designed to work like this, I know others have done it, so am curious as to why you say it wil not work. I used to have a nice big inverter on the truck, but it blew up and the replacement is physically too large to mount anywhere.
I need at least 600 watts, and preferably more for starting loads. Doubt if a $30 Walmart inverter wil do this. In any case, isn't that a square wave converter? I was hoping to have a pure sine wave.

I use a monster power 300 watt dc-ac to run my computer in my truck. I can have the computer running while cranking, no problem.

Buy a quality converter and youre set.

If youre worried about starting loads, you could run a power inverter to a UPS. UPS's though will live a very short life in an automobile. Not designed to take any bumps or temperatures.
