Right Hand Drive Conversion - Help needed
Right Hand Drive Conversion - Help needed
G'day guys,
I intend to take my 2004.5 RAM back to Australia in late 2006. The vehicle must be converted to RHD (bummer I know) and the company that converts them wants over $20,000usd to do the job.
I know there is a company in the USA that does conversions for a company in Australia that sells used RAMS, but they wont tell me the name of the company. I figure, someone, somewhere must know of a company that does these conversion.
Your help would be GREATLY appreciated in this matter. I'd really hate to have to leave the RAM in the US.

I don't know what the cost is on a new truck in austrailia but with a 20k modification then pay to have it shipped. Wouldn't it be easier and cheaper to just sell your truck and buy one over there. I couldn't imagine it would cost say 30k more than your truck is worth...... I have a friend that was in the military over in europe somewhere and baught a brand new mini cooper(s) over there and paid constderably less money for it there and had to only get the headlights changed to be legal here. He had them swapped out and had it shipped over here and still saved about $10000.00!! He still runs it around here he likes that his (overseas) model doesn't have a top speed governor so when he races it he smokes all the other ones!!
Thanks guys,
Yes it is surprising how espensive the Dodge RAMS are in Australia. A company sells them for over $80,000usd, so it is still worth me shipping mine back. BUT, I'd like to try to reduce my $20,000 conversion bill if I can!
