Anybody know anything about GE side by side fridges? I have one on the carport that has been acting up and the other in my house died today!!!!! The one on the carport will run sometimes then quit. Wife played with the thermostat on the one in the house and it started working. Is it the thermostat or the controller board on the back that is giving me greaf?

 

Nevermind......It looks like it is off to get 2 new fridges tomorrow...

sounds like bad thermostats, but its probably a condensation issue.

Call GE and have them warranty the fridges.

 

I had issues with my on year old GE side by side. Could not believe a one year old fridge would go bad. I searched the Net and found a site like this one and a guy described my issues exactly. He even had pictures and what to do to fix it. $5.50 of parts from Radio Shack to fix and upgrade the failed parts on the P.C. board fixed it........very easy. Been working great for a year now. Gotta love the Net!!!!!!

 

My GE side by side had a thermo switch go bad year two, and finally the compressor at year 6, very disappointing.
