Harmonics hardwood flooring install???

I was suckered into buying this stuff from costco for my wifes office. First I had no idea that I needed a "install kit" , our costco doesn't have it . Next it say's if you have infloor radiant heat you need to call for install tips. Well, I've been calling and get no awnser and have not gotten a call back with my mesage I've left. I have heard you can get this padding from lowes or home depot, anyone know? Anyone have any dealings with this brand of flooring? This stuff looks to me if you piled it up and poured diesel over it, it would make a great bon fire!

Is it the "click" together type?
If so there is a trick to it (I have a friend in the flooring business). If I was a good type I could help, but I would be here till midnight trying to explain. The padding should be a very thin (1/8" or less) green rubber type material. Short rolls, probably 5'X 40' or so.
Good Luck.

It doesn't have to be green foam. Yes green is the better stuff, but the cheapo white will work just fine. Home Depot and such carry it.

That stuff is a piece of cake. You basically just lay down the foam padding and measure and cut the wood strips leaving a gap around the edges which will be covered by moulding. It just clicks together. I think that the second piece has to be at about a 45 degree angle to the first piece and you push the tongue in the groove and push it down. The thing that concerns me is your radiant heat. You may need a special type of heat resistant foam.

Yes, the infloor radiant heat is THE BIG QUESTION! The stuff looks easy to install, as I heard it is by many. Just is the normal padding ok for the infloor? or is it something else? I found a forum site for this stuff and posted there too, all posts over there seem to love this stuff and have no problems. Patiantly waiting, I should say the wife is. Gotta get this done so I can get back out in the woods and hunt!

only thing you need to be concerned about with the in-floor heat is that you do not get the surface temp. of the floor above 88*. i design in-floor systems and have many installed with wood flooring. mind you, this is not your water temp, but your surface temp. PM me if you have any questions about it.
