Recently, while hauling my fifth wheel, I pulled -over to let a trucker pass. As he did, he waved and then held out three fingers in the same shape as a double-u. What does this code mean, if anything?

 

maybe he meant read between the lines?

So let see if I understand this, '3's to ya' is a good thing, and '1's to ya' is a bad thing. Am I correct?

 

On the cb we use to say 3's & 8's to you & all the good numbers. It was wishing you well, have a good trip, thanks & catch you on the turn around.

 

So....what constitutes a "good" number??

 

If you say 88's to me I'm gonna RUN!!!!!!!

 

some of the chinese customers we have are big into numbers. the more "8's" you can get into a phone number the better. I think it has something to do with good luck and being prosperous. "4's" have something to do with death. and I'm not sure what the rest of them are....

 

Any number with over two 0s behind it. Example $ 100,
$ 1,000,000 and so on.

 

i have a lot of orientals in my area and they go to ectremes to not get 4 in anyhing... heck, even their house numbers are 22a instead of 24. and new appartments here are labled 1-2-3-5-6-7-8-9-10-11-12-15-16-17-18-19-20-21-22-23-25 and so on. anything with a 4 or 13 is removed

 

Good numbers? I have always liked 69. Just feel lucky when it comes up.
