Got pulled by a Duramax

When this happens:

This happens:

The '05 dmax/allison pulled really well, I wish I had the money for a tow truck to use full time. It'd probably make a good grocery hauler too.

See what happens when you burn waste oil in your fuel? The whole motor disappears! ....OR did you leave the hood open and someone stole the CTD?

About the pictures? To see a Dodge being towed by a Chevy....well...... I'm gonna need some serious counseling for a while. My world is coming to an end.

That's what happens when you buy a truck and the PO 'forgets' to tell you it was using water. It's slowly coming back together... 139 days and 8 hours later.

It hurt to be pulled that way, but the heated leather butt-warmers were nice. The whole teardown is here:

what does "using water" mean?
you mean it was leaking coolant into the # 6 cylinder or something?

The headgasket was blown ~5-10k before he sold it to me. The truck's coolant overflow tank was 1/2 full so I incorrectly presumed it was ok to drive. The #6 melted down after driving it for 600 miles with low coolant. Any of the cylinders could have melted, I think #6 went because it's out of the air flow the most.

Yep. One customized, expensive piston. I'll sell it to you for what it cost me... $5k and climbing. The noise was pretty cool. It started to sound like a pulling tractor winding up after the valves in #6 melted open. I wish it would sound like a massive cam everyday, without oil covering the tailgate.

If you guys can't handle the Duramax towing the Cummins, you had better stay away from truck pulls in the mid west, becasue atleast 35-40% of Cummins that is trailered to pulls are pulled by the Duramax.

I can handle it...but that doesn't mean I can't give my friend a little crap about it on a Dodge forum!! I'd drive one too if the payments were as cheap as my truck ($0) and I was sure they'de live past 300K miles without becoming a serious money pit, and if the interoirs were put together better. after 4 years and 175K Dad's 01 sqeaks and rattles so bad inside I can't stand to ride in it!

Whoops, sorry!!
