Cool got a new toy

so I'm bored at work and decide to cruise the autotrader site and look at things to drool over and I come upon my dream truck for sale . I've always wanted a 70's ramcharger, but all the ones I find are ususally rusted to the window line .......so long story short I spent money I don't have (line of credit) and bought it .......just got back from edmonton with it

the plow has to go .....it has a 360/4sp, 3.55 gears with posi ......

so I kind of screwed up and didn't check it out real well

it had a saftey with it and all so i just test drove it an bought it with no real checkover ....I guess it was too shiny

so anyhow the saftey turns out not to be an alberta gov't saftey but a private insurance company saftey so MPI won't accept it

so I takes it in for a saftey and it needs brakes ..no biggie I can do that in an afternoon

but the big thing was underneath and if I'd only looked I'd've seen it

passenger side

drivers side

apperently those boxes are for structural support and keep the b-pillar from caving in a roll over .....so they got to be rebuilt to pass a saftey

I was real ****** at first, but after a day or so I calmed down ...I can get a nice Miller gas/mig setup for 1and I'll fix it myself

so she's gonna be a little more of a project then I thought but oh well that's life ..........
so this summers project it to get her all fixed up mechanically and get it on the road

then next summer I'm thinking 4" lift, 33x12.50's, front and rear arb air lockers and a winch

Congrats, it looks a lot cleaner than most of those that I see. I hope the body is as true as it looks in the pictures, rust is quite the cancer.

youch top looks real nice, I always bring a friend along in case I get excited about an item I have been looking for, he is always there to point out the blinded excitement shields.... good luck on that botom, as for the plow,,,, like you said it needs to gounless you can salvage some pistons for turning that thing and a pump off a used/ junk plow and rig it so you have a half cable- half hydraulic system.
