Got A New Toy......

Just got a new toy.

Since the only internet I can get at home is DSL and I am unwilling to pay the $69.00 a month for it I opted for the next best thing. I am already receiving high speed internet from Sprint with my cell service so this was the only way to go. It does an adequate job of surfing the web (heck, I'm even using it for this post) but all of the extras are awsome. Now I can keep up with all of the goings on here at DTR more than every third day at the station.

Nice new toy. What was the last toy you bought? The Prius?

Seriously, I'm glad you stayed after selling your ram as I enjoy your posts and your little girl is a cutie with a great smile.

Actually there is a car lot down the road from the house that has four or five good looking 3500's. I've been meaning to stop by and look at them but I haven't had a chance yet. Don't worry, I'll be back in the club soon

Mine is not that fancy and not real fast, but it works. I have the Cingular 2125 that I use at "The Ranch". It works real well for checking email and keeping up with the DTR going-ons.

It also works pretty well as a phone.

Britt, I've got a 6600... if you've got a bluetooth enabled computer (I use my laptop on the road), you can set up a dialer on your desktop that will use the phone as a modem and dial in to the Sprint vision network. says it connects at 115k, but the surfing is MUCH faster than on the phone (and obviously the browser is much better! LOL!)

Is that a free feature? With Cingular it's extra and it's not cheap.

it's free on my phone... my buddy does it w/ his Samsung, but he said the newer versions of his phone don't allow it.

it's pretty choice. most of the hotels I stay at have free wireless, but when I'm at the airport or at a friend's house, I just set up the phone and hop on the net. it's on my 2nd line, so it only costs me $7.50/mo for the service

My laptop isn't bluetooth but I can set it up with the supplied USB cable. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. I live in an EVDO area so the speed is pretty fast. Not cable modem fast but adequate and better than what I had which was no service at all. I used to have a Samsung SPH-I300 that used the old vision network. I would connect it to the laptop but the speed was so slow it wasn't worth it. This new Power Vision service is a lot better.
