In reference to the slug plug, do you have a hole behind the magazine well? From what I understand, a slug plug fills the opening at the bottom of the frame to keep junk from collecting in it.

Yes, that makes sense.

Manual references a lock of some kind that can go there as well.

Ditto there Brock, 1988 vintage here. Put some Hogue grips on that sucker, and WOW!
Now looks like they come with the good rubber grips on them...

My father is a NRA certified instructor. He always says the greratest gun in the world is only good to you if you carry it. Sometimes your gun may be too big to carry.

Phox, you might want to check out http://www.glocktalk.com It's kind of the DTR for Glock's. That would be in addition to all of the great advice you will recieve on here.

Great lookin' pistol Phox! I have a G23. It's my favorite shooter. If I can make a suggestion though. The hogue rubber grip actually makes the grip feel too big IMO. I used a bicycle tube, cut to fit, slipped over the grip and it's a world of difference. I also added Trijicon night sights, and extended mag and slide releases. I couldn't be happier with a pistol. Now if only Wednesday would come so I can play with my new Bushy M4!

Had a 19. Didn't like it. Sold it. A cop buddy shot himself thru the rear cheek with his. Perhaps that's the reason I got rid of it. Had a Sig 220. Too big to carry. Sold it. As someone else posted, the best carry gun is one that you will carry, ALL THE TIME, EVERYWHERE! At least everywhere it's legal to carry. For that reason, I carry a little Kel-Tec .380. Drops in my right back pocket, muzzle up, behind a print shield made out of a piece of plastic from a laundry detergent bottle. Yeah, all the gun "experts" say even a 9 is minimal. All the big calibers are too big to carry concealed in warm weather without looking like you are trying to hide something. I rather be carrying my little 380 than wishing I had my Springfield V-10, but didn't carry it because I can't hid it under my T-shirt. IMo, seven rounds of .380 silvertip would convince most people to go away. JOIBO!

Yep!! I just happened to check in this morning while getting ready for worship and saw your thread.

Congrats on your first Glock. Careful though...they tend to multiply.

I offer two points of advice:

1) Shoot, shoot, shoot and shoot...and then when you get done go shoot some more.

2) There's a book called The Complete Glock Reference Guide by Paladin Press. In my opinion every Glock owner needs to own that book. It provides all sorts of useful information.

3) I know I said two, but I thought of another one. If you haven't found it already, GlockTalk.com is a great discussion forum on Glocks (just be warned that some of the guys there are full of themselves).

Other than that, enjoy your new Glock!!

By the way, the G22 is my carry gun as well. GREAT gun.
