GM slams Ford
I never heard Dodge was even considering it.
The cost of urea is nothing. You go to the dealer every six months or so and get topped off or with routine maintenance. It's no big deal like we all thought it was or at least I did.
I'm not defending Ford at all but I do believe in calling it how it is. I never would have considered a 6.0 or a 6.4. I did own a 7.3 and that truck was awesome. I do like my Dodge's better and have owned only them in the last 15 years or so. I have been watching the new Ford venture on their own and I think they have a winner. I will compare apples to apples when I buy next Fall and pick the best one. A year ago Ford would not have been on my list and GM wouldn't have made it either leaving me with Dodge by itself once again.
I think GM is in the weeds again and they need to get their crap together. Ford stepped it up bigtime in my opinion and Dodge made some great strides with their interior and exterior redesigns. We shall see.

I think the Urea argument has some traction. Having to add a jug of DEF every 3 tanks of fuel is gonna change the actual cost $$/mile of fuel. So when you fill you have to think that the price on the pump is more than you are paying because of the DEF cost. I am not sure, but the last jug was 1 gal for $9??? So for 3 tanks you would use 1 jug?? So about $3 per fill extra for DEF vs the Cummins. I think its a wash if you were to compare mileage that way..

Interesting.....the guys I know who actually have the trucks say that the 5 gallon tank is supposed to last about 7500 miles and then the dealer tops it off. That's why I used the figure of 6 months in my other post. Maybe these guys (three of them) don't know their own trucks or the dealer has them snowed or both.
I am going off the dealer close to me. They had a fund raiser for test drives and a friend of mine took one for a rip.. They were saying it was the jug (1gal) per 3 tanks of fuel. Maybe it is less than that.
My BIL always drives diesels when he goes to Europe. His last trip had him in a 3 series BMW that was getting between 60 and 70 MPG. Of course diesel was around 6.5 dollars per gallon so you'd have to get decent mileage like that. Why those cars aren't here is what bothers me. Even Ford escorts over there are diesel for crying out loud. It's either the liberals in this country or the oil companies or both.
