Consumer reports slams dodge turbo diesels

I just RCVD my 2013 buyers guide and the new Dodge Diesel was rated the worst diesel out of the big 3. The F250 was rated the best for reliability with a fair rating and the dodge and GMC got a poor reliability rating. Overall the GMC won with 69 points out of 100 and the dodge got a 49 out of a 100??
And the 2006 -2010 dodge turbo diesel made the vehicle to avoid list.

Even though im a 1st gen guy this really hurts my cummins pride

My 2007's been in one time for the KO1 Ca emissions reflash.
Have they not heard of the nightmare of owning Ford 6.0 or the lousy fuel economy of a 6.4?

They clearly are clueless. The 6.4 was a disaster as well its predecessor. The 6.7 Ford is swallowing exhaust valve like it was their last day on Earth. The 6.7 Cummins has had its start up share of issues but has since leveled out an proven to be reliable. The 6.6 Duramax as of late has actually been a pretty good engine, like it or not is it what it is.

I would love to know where they get their info.

If i cared about cup holder placement I would look at CR. Otherwise I'll stick to forums and other sources of knowledge.

When you see a Cummins and a Duramax hooked together with a tow strap, the Cummins is usually the front one.

Always a day late, and a dollar short.

I can understand some concern around the release of the 6.7 because of the turbo, emission issues but surly the 6.0 Ford was a larger disaster than that.

I'd say CR is in the same class as Diesel Power and Trailer Life. FOR REFERENCE ONLY!

They say otherwise but I am pretty sure Consumer Reports ratings are cash-influenced.

its interesting to me how they rated all the diesels with fair to poor predicted reliability? The whole reason to get a diesel is because theyre supposed to be more durable and reliable??

^^ Ain't that the truth! Plus mine's knocking on 300k miles & I've never had to touch the engine.
