Glock 30 vs SA XD45 Compact 4"

Sorry for posting here, but I can't access the gun-forums site on my company computer. I am going to buy either a Glock 30 or a Springfield Armory XD45 4" Compact. Please don't try to talk me into a 3rd choice. Please just tell me which of these 2 and why. Thanks for your help.

I own the XD40, I have had it for about 2 years, many rounds shot and no problems, I found when shopping that the Springfield just felt better in my hands, Gloc is a great gun, but I went with the one that felt best. Go shopping!!!!!

I have shot the 30 and loved it. It felt great and seemed to point naturally. I haven't tried the XD45 yet. What about reliability? I have a Glock 26 that has been great a great gun as well.

I like the grip on the XD better. Your hand may or may not agree.

My opinion of glock is that it points like a revolver.
the grip is canted differently to the barrel that other semi-auto pistols.
I have never been a much of a wheel gun shooter so I never favored the glock.

Im carrying an XD40SC.

Glock is a great gun and the 30 is awsome, I will tell you to shop around. I am a firm beliver if the guns dosen't fit you will not shoot it worth a crap. I will vote for the glock 30. I owned one before tradin it on a 36 I have loved to shoot both guns and of course do to my handle you can see why I voted for the glock

Either is a good choice. Go with the one that feels best in your hand and has the better natural aiming point for you. Fit is extremely important. Having shot competitively in the Army, you find that the way a gun fits your hand is an important factor.

I also own a XD40 and love it, very accurate and very comfortable to shoot. I've shot the glocks and they are also good guns, but my hands like the XD better.

<3 my XD45 5". The feel and quick target acquisition sold me on it.

Go with the XD

One big difference between Glocks and XD's is parts. You can get factory Glock parts all over the place. You get to ship your XD back to SA to get it fixed.

I would choose the Glock over the XD. I don't like the safety on the frame. I don't mind the safety but I don't like that you can't open the slide if it isn't compressed. No big deal but you don't have to do that with a Glock.

Good luck and let us know what you decide.

Kinda like why theres a million K cars in the junkyard... parts are plenty, cause well, they are needed!

XD solved that by making their guns reliable...

Just playing! :-D

I've got an XD-9.

I looked at the G19,but after shooting it a bunch of times decided the grip angle wasn't right for me.

The XD fits MY hand much better than a Glock.

I've got a ton of rounds through the XD and have never had a malfunction.

I haven't found the XD to be more reliable than a Glock. I say that because I used to work at shooting range I watched what went out and what came back broken.

The XD does have a nice feel when holding it I don't care for the high bore axis adds too much flip for me.

I am not a fan of Glocks either but I do own some.

I have a XD .45acp service, awesome handgun. Almost 2,700 problem free rounds thru it right now. Check out this website for a lot of user info about the XD.
