I am getting so sick of the political agenda of both sides being posted here and it is getting worse and worse every day.

This place has been built up as the best site that most of us have found and it was due to folks minding our manners and doing the right thing by the other members. Please don't bring discredit to the site. It's the only place I feel that I can go on the web and enjoy myself .

Thanks,
PISTOL
Pistol has hit the nail right on the head.......it is getting disheartening that it seems like EVERY topic that gets posted here degenerates into a political arguement, now its even crept into the HUMOR thread .......and it always seems to be the same few who have to side-track every discussion in to a left wing/right wing, "whos best" tirade.
Look guys, we KNOW where you stand, you have explained it enough, leave that poor equine carcass alone! youve flogged it till theres nothing but a small red spot on the ground
Can we try to limit the political arguements to PM's and emails? I for one am sick of hearing it and realy its starting to erode the quality of this site. I want to continue enjoying the discussions here......
Guys, if I wanted to hear the griping and whining, I'd get remarried

Thanks.......... CD

Agreed. This is getting just as bad as the tranny, oil, additives, and gasoil production threads that turned into war.

Thanks for posting that Chrisreyn and Pistolwhipt, I was wondering if I was the only one who felt that way. Maybe a fights and flames forum for those who enjoy that kind of thing. Arguing about politics has got to rank right up there as one of the most pointless things you can do on the internet, won’t even go into the threads that I know will go ballistic don’t have that kind of time to waste

Typical liberal (or conservative) response to a problem. Loosing an argument and now trying to shut everyone up.

IT's ONLY A JOKE!

Why not contain all the political discustions to a thread dedicated to politics only, for us who like discussing politics with our fellow Cummins enthusists

this is a truck forum. Go find a political forum to play in. I'm going to be getting harder and harder on the political threads from now on, especially with you and mexstan, like it or not.

Well said! My lips are sealed. Now back to our regular program! Two of my buddies are heading to Fred Swanson for extreme makovers and I am looking forward to their impressions. I love spending my friends money.

Some of the information that has been put out on issues concerning the government and current events, I will admit have been informative and I like. I spend so much time on here That I don't get a chance to keep up on world news anymore. It's not until the personal opinions start flying that it all rolls down hill.

agreed. I would like to see political discussions go away too..... we all know everyone elses political agendas anyway so we can all figure out what everyone will have to say about something.

Oh Hell's bells, I guess I have to be the voice of dissent.
(Like a slug arguing with God. Why am I delegated to do it? I don't want to do it, can't we make Herb do it? )

I personally fail to see the negatives of having political threads, provided that the politics contained in those threads remains within those threads and doesn't permeate through the rest of the site. Those who start, read and participate in the political threads do so because they want to, and we enjoy it. We argue with each other on our own accord, for our own benefits, because we want to. Participation in the political threads is not in any way forced on any member. Just as the gun people enjoy discussing guns, and the dog people enjoy discussing dogs, and the Diesel truck people enjoy discussing Diesel trucks, we enjoy discussing politics.

I know that it isn't hard to detect and avoid the gun or dog threads, as I don't get very much out of them and usually don't bother to go through them. Therefore I do not believe that the political threads have become intrusive to the point that they are unavoidable; they are rather sparse and I have never seen arguments within them spill over to other topics.

Yes the same topics can be discussed elsewhere, but the quality of members on this site is far above the quality of members on any other site I've ever seen, and it is highly enjoyable for all of us to discuss that which we discuss. We as a group respect and enjoy each other's thoughts, and if political discussion is banned here then dialogue between us would become impossible, and none of us want that.

Personal attacks within political threads are rare, and mostly resolve themselves. Personal attacks are not limited to political threads; I've seen threads about pretty much anything degrade into that. But once again, the personal attacks usually resolve themselves, and the underlying issue is the members themselves rather than the topic being discussed.

For the most part, the political dialogues here are very productive and enjoyable to us participants, mainly due to the quality of the membership; if you desire them to be banned, then this website will remain a highly productive Diesel truck website. A large share of the enjoyment that many members derive from the site, however, will be lost, and we do not desire that in any way.

The discussion of politics is gratifying to a large number of us and it in no way oppresses or hinders others who use this website, and therefore we respectfully ask that it remains to be allowed.

(If pragmatic, alternate solutions are required, then may I suggest private forums or a seperate sub-forum?)
