quick post to say HEY all! hope all is well in your worlds! son walked in to the boss's office about a day off. quiet kid anyways said 'Saturday" and the boss said' it is yours, take the day off. you have done so well, you are ahead of the production schedule and we can't keep up.' not bad for a shy kid. work ethic. tell your kids it does pay off in the long run....

Evening all

Been busy lately. I've been telling myself that I could use a press, as in hydraulic press. Had some spare steel laying around here soooo... started cutting and drilling and I'm almost finished. Need to weld a couple ties on the uprights and the frame is done. Also a pulley system to raise and lower the bed. Just need to go buy a pump and a ram and TADA one press. 6' tall X 3' wide with a opening of 10''. It would be nice to have an electric power pack and ram but can't justify the expense. Should handle anything that I want to use it for.

JWBM sometimes it's hard to get that work ethic stuff through their heads when there smarter than the average bear.Haha Good stuff...

Weather is nice and hot this week. 30*C today and the same till Sunday and then cooling off and chance of showers.

Son was out for most of the day. Helped his mother brush/scrape and stain the deck. Deck is 14 x32 so he was a lot of help. Told him it was appreciated and sent him home with bags full of care packages. Hahaha He's growing a beard if thats what you to call it. Kinda scruffy and patchy. Ask him if he had lost his razor. Got the look... gave it back. Should at least trim it... said I. Mumble mumble was the response.... yea maybe on the weekend.

Nighty night off to hit the sack.

Got a new toy at work yesterday .... a street sweeper !! Ahhhh ... something else to distract my ONE worker .

#1 son & I got us an apartment finally ... gonna be roomates until our families get down here. What a cool learning experience for the kiddo !! HE's gonna be responsible for paying the rent on time, HE's gonna do the research to find the best electricity provider and get it turned on, HE's gonna call the landlord when things are broke in his rental .... Not many people get a do-over in life but I get to give him one. Ooohhhh yeahhhhh, life is good !!

hydraulic tube in place under trailer for heat the easy way (off the truck) nice and cozy for when we stop travelling. aluminum plates for protection and radiation on the plywood. foil faced foam board for insulation then steel roof decking for road hazard protection, critter proof. custom utility trailer turned into a toy hauler/hotel room on the cheap. Harley parts to sand and paint. mercedes with a loss of fuel mileage to figure out, but REDLEG and Wannadiesel have been absolutely super in answering some questions....THANKX to them! this is such a great site- thanks to the bigger doughnut eaters on that!

A great good mornin' - - grabbing my ph00 and - - - stomp, yep, caught a donut - - smashed a little but I couldn't catch him without the stomp.

Wrapped up another project last night and am feeling much lighter today - - good to knock them out and off your mind. Took the blonde to the doc yesterday - - she is hurting soooo bad. Just got over the sickies and now her crunched disk is acting up - - think she sat around too much during that bought with whatever she had. She can hardly walk at times until I dope her up. Last episode of this lasted a year. grrrrr.

Heidi - - be careful girlie. Bravado sometimes doesn't pay well in good benefits. PW bunking in with the son - - at this stage of the game that could be interesting, buddy.

OK, gonna run and finish another task and head for the fiver for some TLC. Beeee good,

Late Lunch!! I have some baked spaghetti and lasagna with some garlic bread in the breakroom. Only if your off work do ya get a beer with it.I don't see or hear the top twisten off the bottle either.hehehe. He's as hardheaded as I was at that age ... made a few mistakes along the way but he seems to be learning from them all. He's a good dad that thoroughly adores his daughter ... and that is something that I couldn't be more proud of. He's making sacrifices for her benefit and actually understanding why it needs to be that way. I agree you about the friend / father relationship ... works a lot better at this stage of the game. Less teeth get spit out that way ...


He's getting used to the way I do things ... may not always agree with them but does what needs to be done to keep things on an even keel. Pretty proud of him. Looks like he will be applying for a pretty decent job here at the company ... lots of opportunities for him if he keeps the focus. My size 9 boondocker is standing by but don't think it will be required much anymore
