get to go to court

got pulled over again yesterday. the highway patrolman didn't let me off with a warning this time. so now i get to go to court and explain my case to the judge to get out of paying a for the infraction. sat and talk to the hp for about 45 minutes about how my tires stick out to far from the body. asked him about the law which i looked up on the internet and he really couldn't find to much on it. but i guess the thing that really get me is the fact that the first city cop that pulled me over and gave me the warning said i had 3 days. so went down and talked to a couple of people in town about getting it fixed. but anyway i told the hp that i can't just go out and drop $200-300 or more to get it fixed in 3 days. it would be a different thing if i made $50,000 a year, but being enlisted in the military i have to plan things like that out from pay check to pay check. i still would like to eat too. but anyway just had to get that off my chest. just another thing that doesn't make sense to me.

if you found a law to pove your tires legal print a copy and keep it in your truck! Then you wont have to waste your time going to court and stuff.

There's no way your 285's stick out if you still have stock wheels. You don't need luck in court, you need the judge to walk outside for five minutes and look at your ride. What a joke. The Highway Patrol should find something better to do than harrass our servicemen.

if your truck is legal and registered in your home state just tell the judge. he should dump the charges. i know my 285s stick out of my dually fenders a inch and a half or so. but i am 40 years old and i find they are not near as intrested in me as they are a young guy.

that stinks!

I know what you mean about dealing with the HP, I haven't owned my truck a week yet and already got a speeding ticket! I drive it just like I drove my old chevy that was green and never had a problem in over 20 years! Claims I was 16 miles over and it will cost me $133.00 for the ticket, asked to see the gun and he said he had already cleared it! This Patrolman was the one trooper in our county that I don't know.
I get my dodge that is red and I am already getting trouble over it, last night I had the local policeman jump my rear last night because he claimed the exhaust was too loud and I would need to get it fixed, I informed him it is stock and it is fine. He didn't pull me over just walked up to me in the local grocery store.(in front of some of students) I'm a 40 year old high school teacher and don't need all this crap!

Ok, I'll quit complaining, just had to complain to someone.

I was thinking about a change in the exhaust later this summer but I may wait a while.

I'm just waiting to get nailed one of these days... The 315s stick out about 2 inches past the fenders, and the stacks don't help. I've passed tons of patrolman and none of them seem very interested, so that's good. However, the city has started putting up "vehicle noise laws enforced" signs A friend of mine got pulled over for his exhaust on his powerstroke, with a muffler, and he found out that there are no noise laws for diesels around here! I'm sure it's only a matter of time...
