Question Front-wheel drive only when off hard surface?

This picture would not look abnormal if he was jumping off of something,,,,,,,, But Cockroach has started walking on his front feet when he goes outside. The neighbors really get a kick out of him!

I've seen some videos of those kinda dogs doing that...hilarious! I wonder why they need to do that though?

My aunt's dog use to walk like that. She thought he was a mental muffin but I guess they do it for a reason.
