Free Software to Convert Word Files to PDF Files??

Does anyone know of any that are available for download? I need to convert some Word files to PDF files and I don't want to pay money to do it.

Thanks.

Cute pdf writer, I have it and it is as simple as clicking on print, then when the box comes up asking which printer to use, select the cute pdf writer and it will save it as a pdf to the file of your choosing.

You can also get Open Office. It'll do PDF's and MS Word docs and so on. It's a free office suite: word processor, spreadsheet, presentations - the whole works.

If you used a Mac you could do it out of the box. But the OpenOffice recommendation I also second.

now that the needed app is listed the only thing I will add is a nice one for some, available at M$ update/ free applications. This app takes your power point presentation and converts it to mpeg. Perfect for burning to dvd disc for truly stand alone viewing on nearly any dvd player.

I tried Open Office and I didn't like the results. When it converted from a Word document to an Open Office document everything was all out of whack and I always had to go back in and re-arrange the text.

Which version of OpenOffice? I know they are working on the import filters.
I really like the export to flash from a presentation for websites. Quick'n easy.

I guess you missed the "I don't want to pay money" in my original post.

The Cute PDF program has been working great. I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to convery Word files to PDF files.

I like it because it is quick and I don't have to open another program, just click print and pick Cute PDF as the printer, then name the file you going to save it as. Couldn't be simpler

Although I must confess I can't figure out what the heck "convery" means ...probably something Hoss yells out loud, when he drops his concrete bedliner on his foot in front of his son
