Ford Freestar Owners?

I have a question for my parents' benefit. Are any of you owners of a Ford Freestar minivan? If so, what have been your overall experances with the car? I seemed to recall they had about the same reliability as the Windstar, bt there were a few things people didn't like about them verses the Windstar. I am aware that Ford is abandoning the Freestar platform altogether after '07 and there won't be any Ford minivans (for now.)

I ask all this as my parents' have over 150k on thier '99 Windstar, and having owned the van since 28k miles they have had very little go wrong. It serves thier needs quite well, but they thought they might pick up a Freestar for a good deal as they are being phased out. They have driven and do not care for the Chrysler vans, even though those can also be obtained for a great price right now. My suggestion was to consider driving thier known-reliable '99 to 200k and then get a Honda Odyssey instead. By the way, they have zero intrest in any type of SUV, Crossover, or other AWD vechile of any type.

Thanks for your thoughts...

Man on man those Ford owners . I read some of the posts on that Freestar forum . One was asking about towing and another told how he set his up - even had airshocks . . May I oughta go back over there and post that link to the hitch with the wheel on it . U-Haul will put a hitch on ANYTHING .
