Ford 6.0 liter....

How many gents have been down the 6.0 liter road? I made a huge mistake and bought an 04 powerjoke. I am watching it fall apart before my eyes. Dont even ask me a about pulling anything, it doesnt like to do that. It down shifts all the time, there is very little torque down low. On the prowl for an 05 cummins. Having owned all 3 diesels i have to say the cummins is by far the best oil burner out there. I just wish the 48re didnt feel so mushy. I am going to call ats and see what they can do. Cheers!

My brother went through it twice, with two buybacks from Ford.

I did sell my 6 speed 600. Just got tired of grabbing gears in traffic and yackin on the cell phone. I drove an 05 dodge with an auto and honestly didnt think it was that great, can someone say sloppy. So i drove a ford and thought it was decent, i do have to say that the cab in the ford is very nice but.... . Bad mistake. Questad you may have to take me for a spin in your auto so i can what the potential for the 48re is. Oh well its just dirty paper.

Maybe a 1-2 or 2-3 shift with the TC already locked and 550hp/1050 ft-lbs turning the gears will convince you.

The company I work for has several E-250 and E350 vans with 5.4L V8s. We also have a handful of Ranger pickups. They have been totally trouble free. The supers have three '03 F-250s with the 6.0 PSD. One just turned over 100k and still runs. All three have had numerous problems and management has said no more diesels. I guess they thought the Ford would be as reliable as my four Dodge Cummins trucks. The company has a nationwide contract with Ford so they're kinda strapped. Now the supers want F-250s with V-10s. I don't blame them. The V-10 has only had one "issue" with spark plug thread depth and that was corrected in '02. Other than being thirsty, they have no issues to worry about.
Dodge Cummins, Dodge Hemi, GM Dmax/Allison or 8.1/Allison, Ford 5.4 or 6.8 but wouldn't even consider a Po'SD.
