Fluid Film Vehicle Undercoating

In effort to keep my truck and other vehicles from rotting away in the rust belt...

I've been researching vehicle undercoating.

Does anybody have their vehicles oiled or sprayed with anything else to help combat all the salt spread on the roads in the winter?

Any thoughts/opinions on Fluid Film as an undercoat?

Here's their website that includes a short video.

Alan I can't speak for the rust preventative but I have a can of their general purpose aerosol lubricant and it's pretty good.

Yeah, I been using the aerosol cans of it for a few months now and have been impressed with it so far.

How much are you paying or the cans? I've only seen it at the local Deere yellow line dealer and it was over $7 a can.

That may be what it was. I know I didn't buy two for a reason.

Yeah, it's pretty steep.

There is a business not very far from me that is advertising spraying it as an undercoating, is why I'm asking...

Maybe I'll call them tomorrow and find out how much it is.

Same here, I use it around the farm on almost everything. I used it on a snow blower last year and it was still on stuff when I stopped using it. I like how it hangs around. I find it works pretty good in locks.

Wow, I pay less than $6 a can through our dealership and I think thats still pretty steep. Our nearest Deere dealer doesn't have spray cans but has gallons pretty cheap.

I use it on our wreckers. I don't think it is a very good high pressure lube, it does not seem to hold up like Zep2000 or Polylube. It does however stop and prevent rust and is resistant to wash out. I use it on battery terminals and valve body return springs, hydraulic couplings etc. It has ended the valve body return spring issues we were having. All in all it is a very good product.

For the price I was quoted to have Fluid Film applied...

I believe that I'm going to purchase a setup like they have in the video and spray the stuff on myself.

If I can't find that spray gun that they were using, I'm going to use an old paint gun and throw some plastic down on the garage floor.

Since I have 3 vehicles other than my truck that I want to spray, it would cost me a small fortune to have someone do it for me.

I went ahead and bought 2 gallons of Fluid Film, along with the undercoat spray gun that hooks to your air compressor.
