Flag light?

What's everyone using for a flag pole light? I don't like the looks of the clamp on ones so I'm thinking of a ground spot or flood but solar a it is quite a distance from the house. The pole is about 25 feet long and I have two flags flying.

I think a solar spot would be cool. a flood might not put out enough or be too wide but a spot could be dialed in pretty nice

I just ordered a couple. I will see what works the best. The one is an 80 LED solar. I'm hoping that will do it.

I have a 12-volt 50-watt low voltage spot light that I got from Home Depot, it is connected to its own 500-watt transformer and is controlled with a photocell, wiring is no issue and easy to run.
It's all automatic.

They need to make flags reflective so they will illuminate brightly whenever light strikes them

I'm going to give the 80 led a try and then look afor something else. I hate to spend ~$500 for a light but I guess I may have to.

Thanks.

A guy like you should be able to light that thing up with your "Shining Personality"

I tried the Solar ones and was disappointed, though it was a few years back so I am certain there have been improvements. I went with the low voltage ones for awhile but was disappointed in bulb life, seems like I was replacing them more often than I was raising and lowering Old Glory...

Best for me has been 120 volt spots on the roof line pointing toward the flag... Still not satisfied but will have to bury wire before I can do a better job of it.

You might find a decent bulb at this sight that will not require too much electricity.

To be 100% honest, you should wait a little while on LED lights. They are still perfecting them. The ballast, or driver as they are called in LED lights are still creating a little too much heat. They are making them so you can choose different colors, despertion patterns, and making them last even longer than 50,000 hours. And boy are they bright at only 10watts per!
