response to the flag waving articles

As a card carrying member of these here United States Armed Forces (Navy in particular) I've received numerous emails of the sort, including the one Hummin' Cummins posted. After seeing so many floating around I thought it appropriate to put a respoonse out there, so I replied to the last one with the following, a response from the fighting men and women. The last part is appropriate for an all volunteer force such as ours:

I think I speak for every servicemember as I write this.

We are the tip of the spear. We are the reaction to the action. We are the motivated, and the patriotic, to the extent that we are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. Most people hear that term, but don't realize the gravity of that commitment. The first article of the POW code of conduct is the best way to express it.

I AM AN AMERICAN FIGHTING IN THE FORCES THAT GUARD MY COUNTRY AND OUR WAY OF LIFE, I AM PREPARED TO GIVE MY LIFE IN THEIR DEFENSE

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying:
"Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us?"
Then I said, "HERE AM I! SEND ME." Isaiah 6:8

-SFB

I know a lot of you all out there are current or prior military and understand fully. As for the rest of you, we are truly grateful for the thoughtfulness and support of every person. ...especially me. The lady at the gas station across the street gives me my coffee free almost every morning!! ;D ;D Thanks again.

The unofficial motto in our unit up here was "Don't die for your contry, make the other guy die for his"
