I have talked to a few brits. ALL of them really do not like the road manners of a live axle.
They just dont understand why we (america) dont use IRS on every vehicle. But, they also dont understand why we carry so much stuff in our vehicles too.

Pricing was another one that was rediculous.
He didn't sound too impressed with the Chebys either.
He summarized the whole thing in that Brits are too sophisticated to drive such a vehicle (this would cover all pickups).
He did one on a car called the Ariel Atom and that is the type of vehicle the Brits prefer. Pretty cool car too. http://www.arielatom.com/ariel/video.php

Guess i'd best throw in my 2c worth...looking from a brits point....Jeremy Clarkson is a darn good motoring journalist...but in my opinion he dosn't always cater for the 'common working man'....
I agree with Wannadiesel.....the conversion to RHD was a mess...Iv'e seen/got LHD vehicles...no comparison....
Bearing in mind the excessive taxes we have to pay to get one of these things in the country...its not surprising theres not a great demand....Say for example...you spot a Ram for $15K....Ship it to the Uk....( about $1200.)...On arrival here...we have to pay 20% import duty on the vehicle AND shipping...then we gotta pay another 17.5% tax....so a $15K motor turns out to be in the region of$22.5K...Add to that we pay around $7.80 a gallon for diesel...you can understand why were are not all driving them...
I have a Ram Van ...Love it.....Much better than whats available here...But I guess iv'e always been different...
There is quite a following of American vehicles here...have a look at Ebay.co.uk that'll give you an idea of whats here....
Anyways...thats my 2 pence worth.....
