Ergonomics - future Ram?
Only problem I have is I'd like the ashtray to not be right where I put my knee - I keep having to reach down to close the darned thing after my knee popped it open. Otherwise, any ergonomic problems I might have with my truck are quickly forgotten once I push the go pedal!

I was first sent to an uphostery shop, where we tried more padding, this caused other problems. Different approches were tried but each created other problems, such as if you sit to high the head support would hit me the shoulders, had to turn it around. The dealer agreed to help me any way I wanted. Tried to get after market seats, none available from any of the after market manufacturers.
The seats on my '97 were perfect for me and the wife. I'm 6 ft., 225 lb. wife is 5' 4" and a lot lighter.
The dealer had a couple of '02 3500 with out the bed and the seats were like the ones in my '97. He agreed to change out the seats if they would fit. They would not, different mounting. He gave me the seats anyway and I had to make a mounting plate and got them to fit, he couldn't do this because of safety issues.
The seats do not match perfectly, but noone notices until I mention it. Boy what a great imporvement.
I still have the orginal seats if I ever decide to trade.I can't thank my dealer enough. He really went out of his way to help me with this MAJOR problem. He even installed my 5er hitch for free because of the seat problem.
I do plan to keep him. I got a good trade on the '03. Hadn't even considered trading the '97, had it in to service the auto-tranny. Made me such a good deal and I needed the quad cab, couldn't turn it down. I had purchased my last 3 vehicles from this dealer.
This is not the first time that I had problems with Dodge seats, but this is the only time the problem was resolved to my satisfaction (other dealers). I thought that Dodge had finally got the message on the seats because the seats in the '97 were perfect and I didn't expect to have a problem in the '03.
It was easy to install the '02 seats.
