Re:Future Pulling Truck

Well if you want to keep the 5spd you will need a bigger imput shaft. You would be better off going to a 6spd but it is A LOT more $$$$.<br>DM01

1) Build it yourself....a lot more fun....and you learn something to boot!<br><br>2) Go pull it once stock and see how it does! <br><br>3) Run the tranny until you shear the input shaft off!<br><br>4) Get a dual disc clutch......and Twin turbos......and a lot of fuel!<br><br><br>There is a rough guide......not to be followed in numerical order!<br><br>Good luck!<br><br>Bill

Re:Future Pulling Truck

For your first mod I would also suggest robbing a bank or winning the lottery. <br><br>Those pulling guys don't play very cheap. To be competitive you might as well drop down the 4K for a set of twins. :'(<br><br>Good Luck<br><br>By the way, in September I'm going to be hosting a huge truck pull here in Lanesville, IN. I'm sure if you would like to come give it a hook or talk to the big boys they will be here. 8)<br><br>DB

Re:Future Pulling Truck

love to come up there again and hook the sled. Hopefully by then it will be running good. I'm taking donations ! First thing is to get the pump and injectors taken care of, then dual disc clutch from southbend. Then whatever else i can afford, hopefull twins or bigger single. Wes

Since its designed specifically for that purpose.

Re:Future Pulling Truck

I'd swap in an 8.3 Cummins and mod it. Make for a helluva pulling engine.

Re:Future Pulling Truck

1000+!!!!! That's awesome. But what would make it even better is if it was completely streetable and reliable. That would be 8).

Re:Future Pulling Truck

Also the 8.3C would not be aloud at certain pulls that require an engine that is supplied with a pickup for pickup pulls ie 5.9,7.3,6.6,6.5,6.9,6.0.<br><br>--Justin

Re:Future Pulling Truck

Dodgeboy59,<br>You'll have fun with your pulling truck, it's easy to get hooked . I have a Mitchell billet input shaft (1 3/8&quot; HD) for a 5 speed and a fully splined output shaft kit that I didn't use because I converted to a 6 speed. Could save you some $'s if you're interested. Larry
