Good morning to everybody (plus y'all) from Paradise. Been too busy lately to check in to DTR except to occasionally do a very quick run thru and check if there is anything worthwhile hap'n. Didn't find anything, so left.

Matt, congrats on the new job.

Mad, you sure have a lot of junk in that room. Why the recliner in a workshop? So that you can collapse into it with a lot of beer and admire your junk?

For the last couple of weeks the jacaranda trees have been in full bloom and the entire city is purple. They look great. Now the blooms are starting to fall off and the streets are purple.

Discovered last week that due to crazy Mexican politics I am forced to get rid of my Texas plated Pathfinder, but can't sell it in Mexico and it has to go back to the states within 30 days. What a royal pain. Anybody want a really good, but cheap SUV? Will advertise it maybe later today in the classifieds at less than KBB price. Now need to quickly find a local car to replace it. Another pain.

Thanks, Marc.

Stan, that sucks. Wish I could help ya out. Can't plate it in Mexico? Yeah, I have a lot of junk. It's orginized for the most part, but I have some moving around to do tomorrow... after I switched everything around from one side to the other to paint the other day, it needs to be fixed. The chair...? You're just jealous! Really, because of certain fixtures in my garage, my shop is the social hub of the neighborhood. Heck, the next couple of neighborhoods over! Gotta have somewhere comfy to chill for the king!

Mornin, DTR. Woke up to the bum knee singing... guess I did not drink enough last night. (I've been trying to cut back) Got up, took a pill (they don't give me the good stuff), sittin on the couch with some ice. Hopefully the ice will work a little, and I can go lay back down for a few.

Ho, hum... back to days Monday.

Ah yes, 'paradise'!

Mud truck going for its' 4th painting today. Broke my pressure washer, smallest chainsaw and the windshield rear view mirror in the van yesterday. My lucky streak continues I guess.

Morning all.

Today is Sunday, May 2nd.

On this day in 1519 - Leonardo da Vinci died.

1776 - France and Spain agreed to donate arms to American rebels fighting the British.

1797 - A mutiny in the British navy spread from Spithead to the rest of the fleet.

1863 - Confederate Gen. Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson was wounded by his own men in the battle of Chancellorsville, VA. He died 8 days later. 'The south did it again'!

1865 - U.S. President Andrew Johnson offered $100,000 reward for the capture of Confederate President Jefferson Davis.

1890 - The Oklahoma Territory was organized.

1919 - The first U.S. air passenger service started.

1926 - U.S. Marines landed in Nicaragua to put down a revolt and to protect U.S. interests. They did not depart until 1933.

1933 - Hitler banned trade unions in Germany.

1941 - The Federal Communications Commission agreed to let regular scheduling of TV broadcasts by commercial TV stations begin on July 1, 1941. This was the start of network television.

1945 - Russians took Berlin after 12 days of fierce house-to-house fighting. The Allies announced the surrender of **** troops in Italy and parts of Austria.

1946 - Prisoners revolted at California's Alcatraz prison.

1970 - Student anti-war protesters at Ohio's Kent State University burned down the campus ROTC building. The National Guard took control of the campus.

Coffee's on.

Well.... yeah. Compared to most of the world it still is, but sometimes the bureaucracy sucks.

I received news over a year ago that the law was going to be changed to allow vehicles with a VIN starting with a "J" to be imported into Mexico, so kept the Pathfinder here semi legally while waiting for the change. Now I have received word that the law is NOT going to be changed, so that means that I can never license it here. So guess you could say that all my plans have been changed just because of one lousy letter - the letter "J"! Only vehicles manufactured in Canada and the US can be imported legally.
Hate to part with this vehicle as it is really great running SUV. Although it has high mileage it runs like new and my wife loves it. It looks good too.

Good morning folks. Had a bon fire last night with some buddies over. Feelin A little "fuzzy" right now. Coffey is good.

Shop looks great Mark, recliner and coffee table are necessities with that icy cold kegerator.

Going to be 89* and humid today, planned on setting up a play area for the grand daughter, got to go to Home Depot and get some more fence to section it off so the dogs don't mark it all up.

Ya'll have a great day.

Ya know, I've been in construction all my life, figured I would not pull a boneheaded stunt like I did tonight... the wooden trim on the bottom of my side garage door was coming loose, so I grabbed a small trim nail, and small hammer, and tacked it up. Funny thing, the nail was not going in straight, so I reached back down to pull it back up, and BAM! Split the side of my bird finger, lifted the nail... I got it good. I have not squished the meat out of one of my fingers in a LOOONG time... It's singing right now, too...

Ok, I'm out. Until tomorrow.
You know, they say your eyes and coordination start going away as you age. You're pushing 30, better be careful. Floor looks great though!
