I also belong to the "Big Three". I think this is my favorite though. Thanks to Jack and everybody else for making this site what it is.
Michael Az

Re:DTR vs TDR

I am a little "late" posting on this thread, but want to
say "thank you" to Jack for a GREAT diesel website!!
I also want to thank all the moderators for the great
job they do "day in and day out!"

Like many of you, I am also a member of the TDR. I don't
get over there as much as I used to for many of the same
reasons posted here by others. IMO, the TDR website
has changed alot over the last couple of years. My
biggest "complaint" about it now is one cannot hardly
give an "opinion" without being criticized or "jumped on"
by certain members there. I have even received "nasty"
e-mails from a few over what I have posted. There is
just no reason for that. Robert Patton and his staff are
very nice people as well as his entire staff @ "Geno's
Garage." Heck, Robert even refers to Jack's site as
"the free diesel website!" LOL!

Jack, you run a "tight ship" over here and I sincerely
thank you for that! I am very proud to be a member
here and would pay for the privilege if it ever comes to
that!

--------
John_P

Re:DTR vs TDR

Echo what JohnP said. I got nasty replies on several posts so I have not posted there for probably three years or so now. Much cleaner here.

JohnP, Jack is taking donations when you find some extra buckos lying around. Goes for everyone else too. Every little bit helps. You can go the the on line store and send a contribution there if you like. It doesn't hurt a bit.

Dual member as well, yet sometime this month they will exile me from TDR as I didn't pay their dues. Not worth it in my opinion.

I've been absent from this site the last 3 months and MAN has it grown! It's rocking now.

I like the TDR as it seems that the advertisers pay the money to get their banner ads, and that's it.

Really I think NWBombers is my favorite, but it's different strokes for different folks.

Great looking site here though, except for all the ads, but it's free, so that's kinda understandable.

Keep up the good work,
Andrew

Really I think NWBombers is my favorite, but it's different strokes for different folks.

Great looking site here though, except for all the ads, but it's free, so that's kinda understandable.

Keep up the good work,
Andrew

I'm not sure what you mean, but

Our advertisers pay for their banners
We have less advertisers then the TDR and The Diesel Stop
We have a top banner. The only other ad is the side banner on the front page. No more than any other sites. : At least be accurate, but yes different strokes for different folks.

Jack

Re:DTR vs TDR

I am a member of both. I mainly like the DTR because I can give a certain Aggie a jab when the 'pokes beat their football team. ;D

I have had no nasty e-mails from TDR members concerning my posts. Also, I do not see it as being a hostile place for those truly seeking knowlege. I have learned quite a bit there, and have shared some of my limited wisdom as well. I feel that my $35 buck is well spent.

This is a great site as well. Keep up the good work.

Re:DTR vs TDR

Is it just me or does the connecting/respose speed seem to be real slow on TDR?
Most times I'm checking over there I give up 'cuz I get tired of waiting for a page to load.
I'm on a T-1 at work, and DSL at home.
This site is never slow. ;D
