Good news on the homefront, MadHat. But, we'll keep the prayer lines open for just alittle bit longer.

Ah, the weekend, what to do? About time for an oil change and a fuel filter change for baby....then it's a fun filled weekend of doing absolutely nothing. Practicing for retirement......

Evening, DTR. What a day. I don't want to go into too much detail, but lets just say that the day ended up with my platoon being put on isolation. All the kids got a virus, not dangerous or anything, but 84 cases of the flu at once are not cool.
Last I heard, gramps was moved to his own room out of ICU, and things are going as expected. He still has not been awake enough for me to talk to him, but I'm just glad that he is doing well so far. Still a little worried, but I feel better with all the support here.
Cindy, sorry to hear about your pup. It's a hard thing when a friend is sick and we cannot do anything about it. Few words give comfort, but I'm here for you.
Hot here, too. Not as bad as the rest of the week has been, but not below 95, either.

Have a good one, see everyone in the am.

I hear Crown Royal kills flu germs..... I don't know how accurate that is, but it can't hurt

Have a safe weekend and try to get a little rest in there somewhere if possible

I was thinking about having the wife bring me some Jack, but I don't want to get fired! I am almost over what the recruits have, so I'm good.

Sorry I haven't been launching breakfast, here is a start though, watch your noggins, out of practice.

Just to let you all know why breakfast hasn't been sent. I have a sick shih-tzu,my vet has informed me that his body is bleeding out. What that means is that his bone marrow isn't producing the red blood cells that it is suppose to,so the red blood cells are bursting and causing him to be anemic and lathargic, which also means he has limited oxygen in his body.He lost 2 lbs in 5 months. All he does is just lay around and wants me to hold him. I went and picked his meds up yesterday and I hope and pray this med. works.I have to take him back on Monday. This has got me all tore up and that's why I get on for a few and off in a few.
Cin's very worried because her puppy is very sick.

Everyone have a great and safe day!
Cin,

I don't know any Puppy get well prayers but I am willing to take a stab at it for you Good luck and of course you are in our prayers as well

This post sits in the middle of town, literally...State Capitol to boot...
the town grew around the amory comlex and we have residences across the street on three sides, and a ball field and grocery store on the fourth, makes incindenary devices and explosives impractical...or at least politicaly incorrect

We have embedded spike strips and pop up barriers around our gates. One time, one of the retard MP's decided that they needed to be tested in the middle of the night, and hit the switch on it with out calling the gate, (it has 2 controls, one at the CP, and one at the gate) and a toyota compact was rolling through at 25 or so...not pretty.

Ok.... I know I am not a marine, but I dont think i need to be told 5 times... Mouse get stuck????

I have seen video of the pop-up barricades tossing a sedan over oto its roof, i can imagine what it would do to a small import.. hope it wasn't a staff officer....

We have the spike stripes and pop-ups, but they are mobile, and we only deploy them during security alerts and such.. over the next year as they remodel the gates, they should be mounting permament ones. ( yeah!finally!)
I am the lucky guy who got stuck being "in charge" of them, and since they wont give me time to train the rest of the guys( always something more important to do), I get called in everytime they want them deployed or have a question about them...guess its job security, but it would be nice to train the troops on the equipment they are using.
We also got a really cool vehicle inspection camera system, but its so dern tempermental that it rarely works...

and before anyone asks, this is all info you could get by simply watching the post from the road for a few days, otherwise i wouldnt discuss it...

here is what I would like them to get:http://www.deltascientific.com/vid_dsc2002-2.htm
