Well, I have decided that at almost 150K on the truck, its time to start taking care of a few things.
I got a power steering pump leak I need to fix.
Im changing rear shocks next weekend.
my headliner is starting to sag at the back, gotta fix that.
and I really need to do something about the windshield and headlights. The windshield had the typical specks that dont clean off easily and the head lights are starting to look dirty and hazy.

Whos the detailing guru? old dog? He seems to have an opinion on everything.

FRONTY -NOT AN OPINION JUST THINGS I HAVE TRIED _ WINSHIELD VERRY FINE STEEL WOOL ON THE WINSHIELD THEN RAIN-X IT
HEAD-LIGHTS
SUPER FINE POLISHING COMPOUND & AND A WHEEL- THEY WILL COME CLEAR AGAIN ([B]HOWEVER YOU NEAD TO USE RAIN-X ON THEM ) AND THEY WILL LOOK GOOD FOR A WHILE BUT ONLY 2OR 3 MONTS THEN THEY GET CLOUDY AGAIN
BEST ROUT IS TO WATCH FOR A DEAL ON NEW ONES ON E-BAY
GOOD LUCK.

I use rain-x religiously... figured that was part of my problem on the headlights was the rain-x attached the dirt to the plastic...

Yea On The Winshield-steel Wool 0000
The Head Lights Get Combination Of Verry Fine Sand & Dirt Constantly Ay You Drive
( I Think They Origanally Have Some Kind Of Coating ) That Gets Worn Off Then The Uv Rays Really Do A Job On Them !
We Use A White Liquid Comopund & A Wheel _then Rain -x Them -at First They Look Great - But It Just Doesn`t Last
ACTULLY THE COMPOUND WE USE IS ONE WE USE AFTER WE USE REGULAR COMPOUND WHEN WE PAINT SOMETHING -BASE COAT -CLEAR COAT - THE ONE WE USE TO TAKE ANY WHEEL MARKS OUT -SUPER FINE.
THERE IS ONE MORE THING THAT WORKS BUT IS QUITE EXPINSIVE - AIRPLAINS HAVE PLASTIC WINDSHIELD`S IN THEM - MOST SMALL AIRPORTS HAVE THE STUFF TO CLEAN THOSE WINDOWS. THAT STUFF WORKS.

Thats the truth. You guys let B-trains and sleds run around on your roads! Nothing says unsafe more than a over loaded michigan sled or b-train, know a few guys that haul from the steel mills in gary IN to detroit MI. I know they definately don't haul legal but thats how they make money i guess.

FO, also if you have liquid chrome polish that works pretty well on exterior glass to get out light scratches and hard to remove crud. Just don't use it on the interior side of the glass, will ruin the tint. Detail guy I know told me that trick a few yrs ago. Said he had a kid try it on the inside and ruined the tint in his car, not a good move for him. For the headlights I've used the meguires plactic polish and a mini power ball on the cordless.

Evening Claude!

This government doesn't care about enforcing the law...

Another thing with the headlights. Stay away from using the wndshield solvent gas stations supply at the pumps on your lights. You don't know what they use, and the bug removers can hurt the plastic. The gravel in there might not help much either.

Garbage night here too.

Been seeing (hearing) alot more rail traffic around here the last few weeks. I live about a mile from 3 main lines. Seems like at least 2 go by each hour.

Heck I won't even use that stuff on my windshield. You're right about that you never know what they use. Seen a few before that had interesting floaties in it or smelled funny and not like window solvent.

Aw heck, if you'd tried everything you say you have, you'd be 138 years old! Actually, come to think of it...

I've got to get going, but here's your history;

On this day in 1755 - General Edward Braddock was killed when French and Indian troops ambushed his force of British regulars and colonial militia.

1776 - The American Declaration of Independence was read aloud to Gen. George Washington's troops in New York.

1847 - A 10-hour work day was established for workers in the state of New Hampshire.

1850 - U.S. President Zachary Taylor died in office at the age of 55. He was succeeded by Millard Fillmore. Taylor had only served 16 months.

1868 - The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified. The amendment was designed to grant citizenship to and protect the civil liberties of recently freed slaves. It did this by prohibiting states from denying or abridging the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States, depriving any person of his life, liberty, or property without due process of law, or denying to any person within their jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

1877 - Alexander Graham Bell, Gardiner Greene Hubbard, Thomas Sanders and Thomas Watson formed the Bell Telephone Company.

1878 - The corncob pipe was patented by Henry Tibbe.

1943 - American and British forces made an amphibious landing on Sicily.

1951 - U.S. President Truman asked Congress to formally end the state of war between the United States and Germany.

1971 - The United States turned over complete responsibility of the Demilitarized Zone to South Vietnamese units.
