Had the mill running today. Sawed up some elm, just because I could I guess. Anyone know if that stuff is good for anything besides firewood? I've never heard of anyone actually using it for anything... "I've got this great elm floor!"

Going to saw up some pine the 'tree people' brought me tomorrow. First time I've tried a soft wood on this mill but it should be fun. It goes thru the hardwoods pretty well, so it ought to go thru the pine like a hot knife thru butter.
Mad better NOT bring that 8 legged atrocity into the breakroom. I can put up with dragons and doughnuts, but I draw the line at spiders. Gawd I hate those things!

You could use it for beams but if you're nailing it you better make sure it's green or you'll be pre-drilling. You could whittle some nifty spider swatters out of it.
Mornin, ladies and gents... starting to pack today
good times!
sounds like our resident marine is afraid of spiders...

Looks like he want to see if you had an extra beer.
I've had a few large 8 leggers here before, after looking them up online they are what is called a Brazilian walking spider or a banana spider. Nasty look things. One had made a big web on the side of the house a few yrs ago. According to the wiki, they are the mosst venomous spiders around, normally make their way into the US on exotic fruit shipments. I used the oxy/acetylene torch on that nasty thing. Didn't want to chance it surviving me spraying it.
Yeah thats what it sounds like
Out for the night, see ya'll tomorrow.
Fresh donuts, coffee, tea, sweet tea, and ph00. The Dragon and the 8 legger have been walked for the night.
Not really, but I had a healthy respect for this one.
We have banana spiders out the ying yang in Florida where I'm from, and around my house in SC. I have seen some humongous banana spiders...
Almost done for this week here in the breakroom...
