drunk+bridge=150 miles in 4 hours

Thats right. I went to Austin from stephenville yesterday morning, 150 miles, made it in 2 hours 15 minutes or so. Had a wedding, then left Austin heading home at 11 last night thinking we could be home by 1. Shoudve known better with the good time we were making. Got 60 miles out and came up on a wreck on a 2 lane highway. Some drunk out on memorial day weekend wiped out. From what was left of the truck it looked like a 3rd gen. The worst part was he had a trailer on with 2 horses. Both horses were in the shoulder dead. The wreck had happened an hour before we drove up on it, and the guy was being given a nice ride in the back of a highway patrol car when we pulled up. Turned out he blew about 3 times the legal limit. and we were blessed with sitting there for an hour and a half before a local showed us a way around.

Moral of the story.....DONT DRINK AND DRIVE!!! Typical memorial day weekend for ya.

They oughta write it up as a casualty dui. 2 horses dead is right there with one man dead IMO.

Always a day late, and a dollar short.

Sorry I said this, but it should've been him instead of the horses.

I went thru Austin That same AM. Glad I didn't have to wait for that.
But I did get into the Tornadoes in Oklahoma, and the water over the interstate.
