Talking about sloooow, drove to my mom today. I don´t get it why people drive 45-50 mph while the speed limit is 62 mph and normal people drive 65-70 mph.

Could have to do with gas prices which are about $8 for a gallon right now. Paid 1.379 € for a liter today. You do the math. Diesel is about 20 cent cheaper. But 1.379 is still cheaper than 1.469 € which I´d have to pay in my town.

My next car will either be powered by LPG (0.65 € per liter) or WVO (12 valve Cummins).

But I had a nice day with my mom, brother, sister and my 7 month old nephew. Dinner was great, took the leftovers with me

Did a Moms day BBQ here too. The wife and I went to the store and picked up a few ribeyes, taters, and corn. We made dinner for the two of us, mom, dad, and my sister. Mom was very happy with the food and was really happy we did the dinner for her.

I got your PM, I'll try running it for a while one day this week. My theory is it's all gummed up and stuck from sitting for 4 years. It ran fine when we shut it off in 2006 with a new IP and injectors. Now it has problems, I think it is just being a pita from sitting for so long. I'll get back to you later this week after I mess with the tractor some.

Heidi, we gave mom the best mothers day we could today under the circumstances. She was happy at the end of the day and was glad to have good kids and a great daughter in-law to be with her.

Evening DTR, not a great day here. Grandpa has taken a turn for the worse. Mom, the wife, my sis, and I went to my aunt and uncles to spend the day with grandpa. The cancer has him in a wheel chair now and he can hardly do anything on his own anymore. Mom and I think at best he'll maybe make it to the end of the month, everything is shutting down and he's starting to give up. He still has good spirits but his health has gone down hill pretty bad the last couple days.

We had all of the family at my aunts today, got to see my cousin for the first time since 2002 when we graduated high school. He was in the Navy and just got out. He moved back home and is looking for work. Was good seeing him, he's really changed and has become a better person since he's been in the military. He's been helping out alot with grandpa since he got home this week. I thanked him for his service to our country.

Smell the keys in your pocket, (take them OUT of your pocket first!). Then you'll know why they need washing.

That stinks Matt. I know what you're going thru, my dad was the same way. He worked an 8 hour day right up until about 30 days before he died. It was amazing to see how quickly he went downhill. We had him in a hospital bed in the living room, and about a week into it, he couldn't sit himself up. He asked for one of those triangle things that hangs over the bed so he could pull himself up. That lasted about 4 days before he was too weak to pull himself up with it. The following week he couldn't really speak and shortly after that he couldn't even open his eyes anymore. I thank God that it was just 30 days or so and not dragged out over a period of months or years. The black lab I had at the time spent ALL his time right beside dad's bed in the living room. On June 14th, the 4th week, at about 4AM, I heard Ranger's toenails on the floor of my room as he got into his own bed. Dad was gone. Let me know if I can do anything for you Matt, it's a rough time.

Evening and good night all.

Matt, I feel for you, brother. My grandfather took a bad turn about 5 years ago, and he is still hanging on. These old people are tough, don't count them out. Spend every day with them like it is the last one, but don't feel like it is. Good luck, brother, we're praying for you.

Talked to my dad, my mentor... he had a lot to tell me tonight, we talked about the old days when I was a crap head... now I'm getting it!

Scott, he's about the same ads how you say your days was. When the wife and I got there today he was very shook up and emotional. He took a nap for a few hrs and was fine. He still needs to have a watch 24 hrs a day now. He's forgeting his meds, can't get out of his wheel chair, and certain parts of him are shutting down now. I'm hoping he goes peacefully one night in his sleep. His lady friend he lived with in FL for 14 yrs is coming up here tomorrow to be with him and give him comfort. I'll get in touch with you if i need some help with this time. I appriciated the offer alot!

Mark, they can hang on for a long time. My grandma died in 08, she suffered stroke after stroke for almost 10 yrs, beat breast cancer, and survived many other trials i her life. She ended up leaving in a good way. She took a nap one afternoon and that was it, she never woke up. Best way to go in my eyes. Mark, glad you and your dad go to talk. I had a good talk with mine too. I felt good afterwards.

night everyone, i'm off to bed.

Matt, our thought and prayers for you and your family. While I always remain hopeful and optimistic and would recommend you do also, ( I believe you are), in my professional experience once the patient gives up it's down hill extremely quick. Please prepare your self for this. Hope and pray for the best, prepare for the worst.

God bless my friend.

Good on ya Matt, knowing that he is in good hands and on good terms. Yes, best with your own Mom in that atmosphere- tough to be the daughter and the caretaker. If you get the opportunity, ask him how you can live your life, to honor him. Ill folks have a certain peace when released from restraints in this life. cry not, for the soul and memories rejoice. make that call to chaikwa.
DTR is here 24/7.

Fantastic Mother's Day, very simple and even played guitar. amazing race watched, wanted the cowboys to win. my friend has been buggin me for three years to enter. we'd be the 'exact opposite' team where she fears everything but loves adventure and I am worn of adventure and fear nothing. well, I hate really furry big spiders.....but good thing they took Fear Factor off the air.

weather 22 degrees and low water, we stayed home. went out late last night to tarp the veggies, the little water paneled tomatoes were fine. very cool idea. must have woke the bear as I was a site in the wind with a tarp, tripping in the soft soil. he took the apple tree limb I had a suet container on.
did not even waste time getting the container off it. did it between the walk from the garden to the barn and back. I never saw or heard him. good!

Redleg, nope not on light duty. they can't do the surgery so I have to fend for myself. working on a speed bag to strengthen the abdomen, move the hips. you know the deal. got to keep moving.....sucks. But you finish up that Road Warrior and we will talk fishing. try to get out there to pick up jeep, got to get boat safe at dock and secure first. have to relax sometime too.

Evening gang, slow day around here. Coffee is really old and stinky - - put some new on for the night crew. That is, if there is a night crew. No one around last night. Lazy bunch.

Sorry about Granpa, Matt. It is tough as it happens. I was so happy the way my parents went - - quickly and no pain with mom, and very little with dad. Funny - - after the tears dry and a some time goes by, you forget the sorrow and remember the fun times and the laughter comes and replaces those tears the empty spot. Especially true when you know they were ready to meet their maker. I just said a prayer for you and the family Matt. God loves ya.

Those kinds of stories never cease to amaze me. How can that guy know that his master is gone? Amazing. My daughters yellow lab is very sensitive and tender and knows when she is not feeling good - - it will sit in front of her and just look at her with those big brown eyes.

Worked on the motorhome again today for my friend's widow. Almost ready to set it out for sale. Pretty unit, but been a lot of work. Gotta pull the carb on the genny and clean it up and reset it for speed and output. Glad when it is done.

Coffee is done - - come and get it - - grabbing my ph00 and out of here. Have a gudurn,

Bob
