Flush to the block or surface of the pins bore. Mostly as long as it's clear of the timing gears and you have it secure in place, it's not doing anything structural. The theory I believe, is it' was used during assembly, but not of any function afterwords.

yup, I think most like to locktite and peen together if you don't tab it.

 

well thats what i'm doing ,on the case bolts i know i had at least 5 to do i just found a pictrue of the five to take care when i got those done i'll be up to 12 bolts i'v loctitedoh ya i'm on a roll oh well least it won't fall offthanks redleg..,later

 

LD- mine was set back in about 3/16 or so when I got there. I gave it a little tap to make sure it was seated then tabbed it with the kit.

well we celebrated mothers day this morning - then this afternoom we went out and took down an american steel tower 40ft + tv antana - about 2 1/2 hrs .
all seperated in to sections and at my house now . Nice tower - will look good once i get it in the air with an antanna on it .
