Don't know if you got an answer yet, but, we had a dog that did this and wouldn't leave a belly incision alone. I super glued the incision back together, put a pad on it, wrapped the body of the dog with a small towel, then wrapped the body section of her with duct tape. The towel kept the tape from sticking to all the fur, and about 10 wraps kept her from doing it again and let it heal. Might have been a bit redneck, but it solved the problem.
