Dodges in Mexico

I just came back from a trip to Mexico City and Queretero, Mexico. While there I noticed a few things. Most of the Dodge Duallies were Badged 4000. The Ramcharger looks good in the 2nd Gen. bodystyle. The 3rd. gens had 2500 badges and only 5 wheel studs?? AND I saw a 3rd gen cab on a 10 wheel truck!! Very cool looking.

Other than that, those people drive like mad!!!

Hey, maybe you saw me. I live in Queretaro.
All the 3rd gen 2500's here have 5 wheel studs and are NOT heavy duty. As far as I know my truck is the only one of its kind in the city.

Will do - but only after I wash it. It is rainy season here and lately it has rained almost every afternoon and evening so I have not bothered to wash my truck for a few days. Maybe next week.
Another DTR member some time ago asked me for info on the Mexican trucks and so far I can't help him as I have not seen many of the newer Dodge trucks. Yes, the 3500 duelies do appear to be badged as 4000's and there are quite a few of them around. No diesels. On a last trip to Mexico City last week I did see a Dodge 7000 flatbed truck. In all my time in Mexico I have never seen a Dodge truck dealership. Lots of car and pickup dealerships tho.
Whenever we go to Mexico City I always give my wife the option of car or truck. She always chooses the truck because she feels so much safer. Specially in MC. I know how to drive like a Mexican and with this truck can 'bulldoze' my way thru traffic quite easily because it intimidates many of the drivers with the smaller cars. She just closes her eyes but still likes the fact that we can go from A to B so easily. One of those yellow Nissan cabs tried to tangle with me yesterday and he ended up with huge tire marks down the side of his cab, some dents and no LH mirror. No damage to my truck.

The little green taxi's are insane. Queretero is very nice, I enjoyed walking around in the old market area, bought some nice stuff for my little boy and the wife. While in Queretero I stayed at some Hacienda down by the mall. While in MC I stayed at the Sheraton Maria Isabell. Great food and too much Tequilla, but that is what make business trips fun!!

Mabye next time we can get together for a drink or something.

Queretaro is no comparison to MC and as you said is VERY nice. Each city here has its own distinctive taxi color. MC is the green and grey. Queretaro taxis are all yellow.
Next time you come down give me a call. In fact, if any DTR's come to Queretaro, let me know you are coming. (Then I can leave town. Just kidding.)

Sounds like Stan has his own version of NASCAR going on down south of the border....I can hear the play by play now.... And here comes Stan and two taxi's around the corner an Villa Rio street....3 wide and Stan makes a move on the outside cab.....LOOK AT ALL THAT BUMPING AND GRINDING, as the come out of the apex of the turn..... Looks like the outside cab got the worst of that move from looking at all of Stans wheel marks on the drivers side of the cab......AWWW now we are under a yellow as the safety crew runs out on the street and picks up the body trim and mirror that fell off of the cab..............

Actually, there have been times that is not that far from the truth.
In the situation I mentioned with the cab, I was going around one of the numerous traffic islands and in the inside or left lane. Not sure where this idiot came from, but I suspect that he came flying around the island from behind me and then saw that there was only one lane where I was headed. He may have tried to get ahead of me and on to that one lane. He misjudged and hit my RH front wheel which was cranked over for the LH turn and therefore the tire was sticking out quite a bit. The tire left all kinds of nice black marks and dents all down his drivers door and his front fender. It looks like like his mirror went over my tire and then jammed under my fender which cleanly sliced it off The taxi driver was not a happy camper. All I had to do was use a bit of thinners and wipe the black marks from his mirror off my truck. He did knock off my hub cab but I just picked it up and put it back on as it was undamaged.
Now, anyone else want to challenge me?

Man, not me - you all are crazy down there.

Stan - please go to the General Diesel Forum - perhaps you can comment on the racing fuel thread. Thanks.
