Ugly car but nice engine.
I would much prefer the Charger.

Alot of them had tranny leaks. It was covered under warranty for my wifes.

I liked it alot. Lots of room for the kids, and it would run pretty good.

I was wanting one for a personal vehicle myself .... but after driving one for a month as a rental car ... I really wasn't as impressed with it as I thought I would be.
Granted, this one was the little 6 cyl. model but the things that irritated me most were the time delay when switching from a fwd gear to reverse (typical with Magnums and Chargers) and the poor view from the windshield (have to lean forward to see the traffic light change).

Maybe having the horsepower of the SRT-8 model would make things interesting enough to change my mind.

Cheers,
PISTOL

This solves the traffic lights issue. http://www.lightinsight.com/our_product.htm

The tranny leak is common, and it's easy to fix. Two o-ring seals for the electrical harness. A five minute R&R if you do it yourself.

Only other issues is sticking rear windows. I have to spray lube the window tracks every so often.

Thumbs up

Our SRT-8 has been relatively trouble free. Very few minor problems. They fixed the tranny leak when they were changing the engine oil for us. Im not sure how you can call it ugly, but it runs door to door with most sportscars.

The magnum is dicontinued, I read some where that the srt-8 is some what collectable due to its power and options. Not sure if it is true or not?

I had a 2005 and I liked it. It was inferno red and a cop magnet. There was an electricl snafu where the rear windows would sometimes not work...but otherwise I loved it. If it weren't for the 3rd child and the lack of space for three car seats we would not have sold it. When we sold it we were in the low 20's for MPG's and it had the 8.

Yeah, this is my wifes DD too. She loves it! Although I did see $3.99 for 93 octane at one station today.

Ouch. She uses a steady diet of 87 octane still cost over $50 for a fillup.
