None of the above. I started wearing mine back in the late 70's while driving a Jeep D10 and J2000. With no power brakes, manual steering, you had to be buckled in or you would be bounced up with every bump in the road. Kind of hard to stop when your foot keeps bouncing off the pedal.

I wear mine for all the above reasons and one more. Every time I am just running "around the block" and I think about putting my seatbelt on, I think if I don't put it on now will I remember this choice in a hospital bed later. If I remember choosing not to wear it, I am going be really ...... at myself

I wear them 99% of the time. If you have an understanding of physics and remember what Granny from the Beverly Hillbillies said " it's better to have a permanently wrinkled dress than a permanently wrinkled face" you would wear them too.

When I learned to drive my mother made me (and my brothers) wear the belt, it was not law at the time (at least for me) and is now just "part of my routine" Even if they dropped the law I would wear mine!! Someone made the comment about children not wearing belts, that pisses me off. The fact that someone is so stupid not to require their children to wear a belt is beyond me.

When the rest of the public starts picking up the tab for people's 'freedoms' it's at least time to discuss placing limits on those 'freedoms'. A large and increasing portion of the US is without health insurance, so guess who gets to pay for trauma and extended critical care costs ? The rest of us do of course. Same with driving motorcycles without helmets, mountain climbing, etc.

I think that the public is often willing to pick up the tab for an accident, an unfortunate situation, etc., but increasing trends of preventable costs due to stupidity is another matter.

Started waring seat belts when in the Fire dept, and still buckel up every time in a vehicle. Yesterday TWO women one 31, the other, 42 were in a rollover accident on I-90, both were killed, and the 42 year old was thrown from the suv and run over, gee do you think she was belted in ? During my 35 years on the F.D I have seen countless accidents where the driver or passangers were ejected from there cars or trucks for not being belted, and have died or suffered critical injuries due to being stupid.

I wear mine for one simple reason. They save lives. I have picked up far too many bodies off of the freeway of people not wearing seatbelts. If you have seen what I have seen you would wear them also. I never put my truck in drive without mine on. Yes there are instances where seatbelts could be a hindrance but the odds are in your favor if you do wear them.

I will not drive off unless everyone in my truck is wearing a seatbelt.

Believe me.... This guy wishes he was wearing his seatbelt!!!

I wear mine, but i don`t feel anyone (except little one`s) should be "forced" to wear one. I had my best friend pass away in a car accident, he had no belt on, but if he did, his chances of being around today would have been much greater, JMHO
