How many wear their seatbelts?

Over the years I have noticed many of my younger friends do not wear their seat belts because of many lame excuses like:

"Not comfortable" "Never needed it" "I drive safely"

The best one "Cop told my uncles brother's son's sister that I would have been killed if I had my seatbelt on in that accident"

Not to preach guys but seatbelts save lives. Ever see someone get ejected during a crash?

A woman I know got ejected from a head on several months back... No seatbelt. Guess what? Dead.

Before I had kids I NEVER wore one.

Now, always. Difference in perspectives.

my last car had the computer that "talked to you". please fasten seatbelt. listen to that for 10 min and you'll be putting on the belt just to shut the car up. now,out of habit, i always wear mine

I always wear mine. Not always real comfortable, but I've heard hospital beds and caskets are worse. FWIW I'm 24.

I have many family members that are EMTs, cops and nurses. And have heard of situations where a seat belt would have been fatal. But more than not seat belts save lives for sure. I have personally seen two fatalities that could have been prevented with seat belts. I wear my seat belt every time I go to the city and get on the freeway. But around the farm and dirt roads I don't like I should. But in the service truck I always do.

if i have to wear my seatbelt to save my life then i want helmets on every motorcycle rider. falls along the same line with the muffler/noise debate, if it applys to one, it should apply to all. thats just my opinion. yes i do wear it sometimes, usually on long trips but not around home and town.

its instinct to put it on as soon as i sit down. im 16 and seen more dead bodies due to lack of seatbelt use then anyone should ever have to see

If I am running around the farm and gravel roads I don't at all and around town I usually don't most of the time I do but more often not. Once I hit the highway I put it on. But after reading this a certain member on here is going to be looking for a dirty red dodge with farm plates now while on duty

I have been in 2 accidents where if I had been wearing it, it would have killed me. I lost a niece to a seatbelt and a drunk driver. She was in the backseat with a lap belt on, the head on was so violent that the seatbelt disemboweled her and it was said it took her 15 minutes to die from it. I refuse to wear a "standard" production seatbelt, but you can bet your bottom dollar that when I climb in my race car, those 5 point harnesses go on before the car fires. It's my opinion every car and every seat should have a 5 point.
