Digging Dogs! Help Please!

I have 2 border collies that love to dig. It seems it was bred into the male because he's been doing it ever since he was a pup and he's very good at it. I think the female learned it from him. Anyway, does anybody have any ideas on how to make them stop? They're making a minefield out of our yard.

That's great advice and I have done that in their kennels and it worked. Problem is that they dig everywhere, whether they are in their kennels or not and I have a big yard and it would cost a fortune to lay chain link down all over the yard.

well, theres the water spray bottle if you are home.

2nd, fill every hole with water if you can.

3rd..scold them by chaining them for an hour or caging them

They are bored. More excercise/activity may help.

My lab started digging as a puppy and I was able to completely stop him.
Everytime he would dig a hole in the yard, I would poop scoop some of his poop in the hole. After a couple of days I would then fill the hole back in, leaving the poop buried. It sounds weird but it works like a charm. He has not dug a hole in the yard in years.

Pour your urine in the holes. You have to show the dog who is the alpha dog.
