Cross another one off of the bucket list

Well I had a new experience this morning at around 10:30 AM. We had a 4.8 earthquake 20 miles west of my house. Just like on TV. Stuff falling off of shelves in stores and the house shaking. Hope this was a once in a life time event.

Sounds exciting. I did not feel any effect of the quake 6 HRs north of you.

You haven't lived until you've ridden out a 6+. Really gets the old heart pumping. Up here in AK we are used to it. New Jersey, from the archives had a 5 around 13 years ago. I would imagine that was an attention getter. I grew up on top of the San Andreas in CA. It was always entertaining to watch newcomers diving under tables at the first little rattle. Not fun when the building you are in suffers structural damage though.

Good to know. My kids are talking about sending me on an Alaska inland cruise next summer for my birthday. I will be sure to pack my motorcycle helmet.
