Go to Asia. You'll see a family of four on a Honda 50. Dad driving, Mom sitting behind him with Sis in a sling, and Junior is on the gas tank. They do the same thing with scooters, only Junior is standing on the floorboard in front of Pop.

In 1979 I was going through the Mobile Bay Tunnel at around 2:00 am. I was driving a 1976 Cosworth Twin Cam Vega and was going 100mph. I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a car coming up on me fast. It got beside me and it was a Chevette with 6 teen girls hanging out the windows screaming............. That one still puzzles me, Chevettes just dont go that fast.

It was trying to get away from those screaming girls.

I was in Okahoma City a number of years ago getting off of I-40 westbound on to I-240 and a small import (Toyota, Nissan, Honda type) comes flying by in the left lane, cuts across both lanes of traffic, misses the exit lane but goes flying thru the dirt triangle to the exit lane and the transition from pavement to dirt to pavement is rough enought that he takes a real good bounce, comes down slightly sideways and spins thru both exit lanes and back onto the left shoulder. Thought for a minute that I was going to tag him but he spun off to the left and never make contact with anyone. Hope he got a good scare.

How about the Chris Farley/David Spade movies? (can't remember if it was Blacksheep or Tommy Boy)
Where they are spinning around, screaming and the hood is flying open?

ok... Here's my horror stories...

Don't think much was funny - at least it wasn't to me!!

First one - many years ago - I was 12... My father had been in the hospital & my older sister had flown in from Calgary...Well I was in the back seat with my sister, my elderly grandfather driving, my mother in the front passenger seat taking my sister back to the airport in Toronto.

I had been reminding my grandfather over and over that we're coming up on the exit for the Toronto airport...

Well I saw he was going to miss it...I though well I won't SAY anything until after its past 'cuz I know how he drives & I don't want him to do anything stupid..

At that point my MOTHER notices and yells out THERE'S THE EXIT...

So what does dear old Granddad do? Yup you guessed it, swerves across 4 lanes of traffic without looking to get to the exit! **** luck for us that the OTHER drivers were paying attention & got out of the way!

Jump forward a bunch of years - I'm driving home from Toronto after working a midnight shift...This crazy driver was weaving in & out of traffic...Well he goes by me, then cuts in front of a gasoline tanker...at this point he notices the RADAR TRAP & slams his brakes on! Next thing I know I'm heading right towards a jack knifed tanker truck that is now blocking all lanes! Luckily this truck driver knew his stuff, straightened it out & got back on the gas before I (and a bunch of other drivers) plowed right into him! That one STILL makes me shake with fear!

Next, another drive home after a midnight shift - just a bit further along from where the last one happened - Just starting up the Burlington Skyway (goes over the entrance to Hamilton Harbour on Lake Ontario)...In the fast lane - A ladder comes flying off a van in the middle lane & lands in the fast lane...Women in front of me panics & locks up the brakes! I did the same....Then she just SITS there...I'm watching this transport come barreling around the corner in the same lane, the middle lane is clear & I'm honking at her to GO since I'm TOO close behind to pull out! She edges forward & bit & puts on her signal to turn right! WELL she edged forward just enough & I floored it and cut right...The truck rear-ended her... No clue what the final outcome was as I had it to the floor & was long gone!

Won't bother mentioning the woman who ran a stop sign YESTERDAY right in front of me & didn't even look up when I laid on the horn & tested out the anti-lock brakes!

Didn't see it but I heard it. Kinda goes with another thread too. One rainy afternoon, we get an ijury accident call and Karen (ex-fiance) was the only one available and half way across the county. She had to go down 131 through Grand Rapids to get there. In the S-curve (4-5 lanes of tight curve and big walls), in the left lane, an old lady decides to stop right in front of her. Karen locks'em up and checks her rearview and see's a semi behind her going into a jackknife. She picks up the mic and starts screaming at the lady to get over. Lady doesn't move, so she pushes her over, then floors it as the truck driver brings his truck back online. She proceeds on to the crash and notifies us of a potential complaint with the old lady. We advised her we heard her on the county radio, and had the county on the phone asking for a status check, as she missed the P.A. on the switch and was hollering across the county radio. Never heard from the old lady.
