Angry Chrome problems.. making rust

Does anybody have a truck where they put on or it had on the chrome wheel well dress up rings and the chrome tailgate cap cover. My brother in law is a body man and he told me to take them off before I had rust, so i removed the, today a boy do I have rust! This truck is a 2001 and babied washed and all pedicures manicures where always done. I learned my lesson about chrome, good thing the brother in law going to fix them. Heads up to anybody else in the salt belt or in the snow belt.

Man this erks me
