On another chain saw note, I put a skip tooth chain on the 440 last weekend and let me tell you what, that thing will flat eat. Anyone else using them?
Skip tooth? I'm not up on my saw chains.....please explain. I have a MS 360 PRO and have run a few different chains but I am always up for something new. Is it a Stihl brand? Oh yeah, and I always use proper bar oil.....around here it doesn't cost anymore than conventional motor oil and I have never had any trouble.

I run what ever oil we have at the moment,we are trying to get are chainsaw to blow up so we have a reason to buy a new one. We bought a Homelite before we moved do cut up scrrap wood, and for the price it was we though it would be shot before we moved well it has now lasted us all winter cutting firewood. We need it to blow up cuase we need a Stihl or the like for when we start cutting trees down for are garage.

Skip tooth is just what it implies, the chain skips every other tooth and doesn't have the clean outs on the chain. Word of WARNING, it is a very agressive chain, cuts very fast, and has major kickback if not handled properly. They are reserved mostly for the professional loggers for that reason. They also should not be used on the smaller saws. I used it on the Stihl 440 cause it has a 24 inch bar and plenty of power to handle it. I also use the chaps when I use that saw for sure.
Again, if you use it, be very careful.
