Important safety recall information on some Stihl Products, including chainsaws
Yesterday Stihl announced a safety recall on some select MS391 chainsaws. The affected saws may develop a cracked flywheel which could come apart during operation of the saw. The serial number ranges can be found here. http://www.stihlusa.com/recalls/recall-MS391-powerhead/
There is a second recall that covers a much broader range of equipment in several categories. The problem is with the toolless fuel caps. The caps can leak and you or the equipment may catch fire. The problem is due to the ethanol in the fuel warping the cap. That information can be found here. The link also shows you pictures of the caps so you can determine if your equipment has the defective caps. http://www.stihlusa.com/recalls/recall_toolless_cap/
If you find you have any of the affected products Stihl recommends you discontinue use of that product immediately and take it to any Stihl authorized dealer for a free repair.

I can't complain. Sometimes it does pay to fill out those stupid product registration cards.
