I had one fly into my truck one day while doing some forestry practice for FFA. I was going down a road near a pond where there were lots of recently hatched goslings, and a big gander took off and hit the rear part of the bed on my old truck. I heard this thud, and looked out the mirror, and all I saw was feathers and feet and him trying to get everything sorted out. My buddy was driving behind me and I thought he was going to wreck he was laughing so hard.

Up to 25 pounds!

I am reminded of a story (gather round boys, this is a good one) The FAA was testing the windsheild of a new prototype of an airplane. The windsheild has to withstand a "bird strike" at a certain speed to pass the test. So the testers bought some turkeys and set of a "turkey cannon" to fire at the airpalne. The test did not go as planned and the cannon blew a hole on the plane. Seems the testers failed to defrost the turkeys.

A re-creation was done on Mythbusters. It's one of my all time favorites.

They actually taste best smoked, got some in the fridge now. We're overrun with resident "golf course" geese here, they hang around all year. Crapping machines. One tablespoon of corn and one tablespoon of water will yield two gallons of goose crap. I'm doing my best to eradicate as many as possible before our season ends in two weeks. Gonna pick up a new call today actually, by John Taylor.

Canadas only mate for life unless something happens to one of them, the other will find another mate the next season, unless I shoot it too.

In Kent County Delaware, we have huge (1,000s) flocks of snow geese. I can hear the flock that is in a field almost a half mile away from my back deck right now.

To further complicate matters if said goose (or geese) are in Canada they are Canadian Canada geese (goose).

It's official, we have Cummings engines.

Where are the Canooks when you need them? Eh!

(Why do I have a feeling this is gonna be one of "those" thread?)
OK...I get it. Canada Goose, Canadian Geese.

To confuse the issue even further, in 1994 Canada actually graned official citizenship to Canada geese that can speak French. So now you have to talk to each one to determine if it is a Canadian Goose or just a regular old Canada Goose. Dang Canadians EH!!
