Prettiest sight in the world

I believe this is the prettiest sight in the world to me. A ship with her rails manned as she comes home from a long deployment. As someone who has stood at the rails, I can not tell you how good a feeling it is to be within site of the pier and your loved ones after being gone for so long.
It is a sight I hope is repeated many more times in the near future. Lets not forget our guys and gals who are still overseas risking their lives everyday to protect ours. I pray for them everyday.

Nice pic! Thats more like the 2nd prettiest sight; I think the prettiest sight is what those wonderful young men and women manning the rail are looking at as they approach the pier, looking for and finding thier loved ones waiting for them.

Re:Prettiest sight in the world

Really,
My hat's off to all of the men and women in the Navy. I couldn't do what they do. When I used to deploy to the Persian Gulf, we'd do fly-bys of the carriers in the Gulf region. They'd be out lining the decks cheering like crazy. It was even better when we could get an exchange going with the EA-6 guys. The folks on the boat can't get any beer for the duration of their deployment. We'd take them to the beer tent and give them all of ours. Funny what 3 beers can do to a man who hasn't had any for 6 months!!!

God bless our armed forces!
Would those be mines or depth charges mounted to the side?

Just kinda wondering what would be going through their minds standing above them in the sun, if they WERE explosives.
